Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 2026. This policy describes our data protection practices and confirms our commitment to zero user tracking and local-first execution.

Policy Summary

  • No personal registration, account creation, or email submission is required.
  • No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected, stored, or sold.
  • No tracking cookies, marketing beacons, or third-party behavioral analytics are deployed.
  • All timers, calculations, and sound effects execute exclusively on your local device.
  • The service is safe for educational use and compliant with COPPA and FERPA guidelines.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Digital Timer Suite is designed according to the principle of data minimization. The following categories of data are not requested, collected, or processed:

  • Personal Identification: Names, postal addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and account credentials.
  • Session Input Data: Student names entered in classroom tools, task titles in focus timers, and custom countdown labels. All inputs remain in volatile browser memory.
  • Device Media & Sensors: No access is requested to microphones, webcams, location sensors, or local storage directories outside standard browser sandboxing.
  • Financial Records: No billing details or payment credentials are processed. The service is entirely free to access.

2. Local Browser Storage

To persist non-sensitive user interface configurations across visits without server-side storage, the application utilizes standard browser localStorage:

Key Purpose Storage Scope
theme Maintains the active color theme preference. Local device only
timer_app_muted Maintains sound mute state. Local device only
focus_today_mins Records daily accumulated deep work minutes. Local device only
cube_solves Saves speedcube solve timestamps and averages. Local device only
custom_events Retains user-configured countdown target dates. Local device only

Users can delete all stored keys at any time via browser settings or Developer Tools.

3. Web Audio Architecture

All auditory signals are synthesized client-side via the W3C Web Audio API (OscillatorNode). No audio assets are retrieved from external content distribution networks, eliminating tracking via media asset requests.

4. Server Access Logging

Standard web hosting infrastructure maintains ephemeral, technical access logs containing truncated IP addresses, request paths, and browser user-agent strings. These logs are used strictly for network security, rate limiting, and infrastructure diagnostics, and are purged on a routine schedule.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & FERPA Compliance)

The service complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Because no personal information is solicited or collected, the suite is approved for classroom environments and users under 13 years of age.

6. Regulatory Compliance (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), users possess rights concerning data access, rectification, and deletion. Because the platform does not collect or retain personal records, data access and erasure requirements are satisfied by design.
